I like this gym because It has almost everything you need while working out, they offer classes throughout the day and all the staff are very pleasant. 24 Hour Fitness in Miami is just the place you need to get the results you want. College Grove San Diego, CA by logging into Facebook. 24 Hour Fitness Coconut Grove Facebook StockThe machines are filthy and the floor is disgusting. Horrific. It takes these guys forever to fix broken equipment. Ab machine has been left without repair for weeks now. Ropes are all torn and frayed. Serious neglect all around. Will not renew membership. Stay away. Will have to rate both locations because they were pretty trashy and because I had roaches crawling in the lockers at both locations, so disgusting. People you can't operate a gym with a filthy location, you need to give it maintenance, those conditions in the locker rooms are scary. So sorry roaches everywhere. Also fix your class studio, it's embarrassing how outdated and old that place is. I've been going to this gym for about 5 months now. I came in with low expectations and wasn't expecting something like Equinox. I was just looking for something affordable and adequate. The gym looked good enough after the initial walk through, but after going for a while one realizes the gym leaves a lot to be desired. The locker room is pretty nasty, the showers have no privacy at all, the parking garage is a pain, and worst of all most of the treadmills squeak and are very noisy. There was only one squat rack and one smith machine. They had, if I remember correctly, two benches, two incline benches, and two shoulder press seats. Dumbbells are very limited, it seemed like they only had one set of everything. So pretty much a very small free weight area. If you're into using machines, this is the gym for you. Otherwise, I can only imagine when this place gets packed. You'd have to wait forever for your turn on the bench. The one where you can do pull- ups, cable pull- downs, tricep push- downs, etc? They didn't have that here. Also, the area provided for you to do your ab work outs (the matted area) is super duper tiny. It would probably fit two people max. But if I had to make this my regular gym, I'd probably looking for a new gym pretty soon. I've been a member of this gym for almost 1. If you don't have a Facebook account. Granola, unsweetened coconut. YEARS, and due to a mistake by the of not processing a payment currently they terminated my account. After showing proof of payment to the new general manager at this club he decided he didn't know want to help a loyal customer.. Alex, the Coconut Grove general manager is EXTREMELY unhelpful and inattentive to his members. You can be referred and get a free month I believe but there are much better gyms in the area. I would pay not to work out at this place. When I first was going through the . On my second day of visiting the gym, the manager approached me while I was on the treadmill and asked me if I was joining. I told the manager that I'd speak to him after I was done on the treadmill. When I approached him, I was honest about the fact that I was still thinking about it. He went ahead and told me, . The 4- day free trail are for people who are serious about joining and it's kind of a waste of money if you're not going to join. I swore that I was not going to join. My co- worker who recommended me to the gym also recommended me that I shouldn't let this manager ruin the experience for me and that I am making a decision to be healthier. I should have listened to my gut feeling period. The person just looked at me and told me that I could just look it up myself online. I went ahead and said, . I thought to myself, . I guess it is too much to ask for a 5 cent black and white sheet of paper, while I'm paying $4. I would always come in the night- time to avoid all of that. I hated that there was a 2- hour (or so) time limit. I always felt completely rushed in EVERYTHING, especially since I (mostly) needed to take a shower before leaving. There was a point though, where it was just getting stressful due to lack of cleaning around the gym/organization. I felt like there was weights EVERYWHERE and no one was bothering to put them away, so I had to watch my step on most days. I would always spray and wipe every single machine before use and after. But, what really was disgusting me was the amount of sweat that I'd see automatically in every machine before I would use it. Some of the guys who go there to lift weights would literally THROW the weights on the floor right after lifting and were just flat out be loud and very disruptive. I swore to myself that the second floor is going to just flat out either break or give out one day. This happened a lot and when it happened I felt myself almost lift off the floor or my insides go up in my body. I called one day and had asked the receptionist to freeze my account because I was financially having problems with paying my bills altogether and needed a month to recover. They flat out refused to do so, and explained that I needed to show up in person. When I went through the trouble of showing up, they told me that there wasn't a manager available to help freeze my account. I called again the next day and spoke to a manager about my situation and how I wanted to freeze my account. The manager promised that he would wait for me after I got out of work to help me with my account. I showed up and he was not there. I ended up telling the front desk lady to help me with this situation and she was very nice about it (I wish I could remember her name to write it here) and she took a memo for me. The next day I called to make sure that the manager got the memo and he did and told me that he froze my account and that there was nothing to worry about. And all because of this horrible gym and its horrible managers and their lack of care for their customers. I don't like the idea of calling someone angrily over the phone, so I had to take a long sip of tea and literally sit outside for an hour before calling. When I called and explained the situation the manager at the time, she explained that she would give me my money back in seven days. This gym could take my money automatically, but couldn't just give it back? Wow. DONT SIGN UP IN THIS GYM, if i can give 0 star I would, the gym has no lights (depressing) old machines! And the most important it's filthy.! I wanted to cancel my membership over the phone because I was overseas and guess what? They will keep charging you with pleasure. I literally went back to Miami just to cancel my membership and guess what? You need to be there during daytime hours. So what if I work all day and I'm not free? Or it's 2. 4 fitness for nothing? I don't recommend this gym to anyone, If I knew this would happen I would've signup in u fit next door. Other words it's a shitty gym. This place is going downhill. I have been a member for 4 years. In the last 6 months it is experiencing more neglect by management. Specifically, it is nasty dirty. The machines, floor, walls. But worst of all is the men's bathroom. Black stuff growing on the walls of the showers, drains backing up regularly. They also take their sweet time in repairing equipment. One month, typically to repair equipment. I'm outta here! Awesome gym. After all, I've stretched, strained and sweated in health clubs from Hawaii to LA to NYC. Otherwise, Shaq's seal of approval seams to mean little. The cardio machines don't allow you to plug in headphones, so there's no chance for audio on the TVs. The equipment selection is sub- par. I repeatedly declined his offer of lowering my monthly membership fees and opted to completely cancel my membership. After assuring me that my membership would be cancelled and they would no longer continue to deduct from my bank account.. BAM! It's the end of the month & yet another charge from 2. Apparently, sales manager Tony Vasquez blatantly lied to my face when he told me he cancelled my membership and evidently just in the business to charge members who aren't using their facilities and hope that they don't check their bank statements!! He is extremely conniving and I will be following up with corporate on Monday morning to receive a reimbursement. I am extremely appalled at their customer service!! I've been going to this gym for awhile now. I also have an LA Fitness membership due to testing 2. HR for my schedule convenience. However I was looking at pictures from when I suppose the gym first opened. Because this gym looks like an old Ballys gym. It needs major updates to machines and also more machine assortments. It's hard to drive to the 2. HR on Kendall drive because they more equipment and varied equipment. This gym like other 2. HRs I've been to is not very clean at all, bathrooms re always jacked up, and equipment and floors dirty. Shaq must be making more money as a sports commentator than from the gym. This place needs some updating. Side note - the staff is barely friendly. Bad gym all around. The staff was not friendly or welcoming to me (as a new Miami resident). All treadmills and all rowers were occupied when I arrived. Ever single piece of equipment and weight bench was being used. There was no open space at all for doing body- weight moves. I tried to do squats in one area and people kept walking through and I would have to stop. They were really light on equipment (like medicine balls, gliding disks, bosu ball, foam rollers, etc.) but even if they had it, there is no where to use it. They offer very few group fitness classes. I wanted to like it here since it is my neighborhood gym, but I wouldn't pay $5 to be a member here. For a small, similar style gym that is less crowded try Club X. For a better overall experience with friendlier staff and more equipment, Equinox is absolutely worth the money. They hardly offer any gym classes and the free that they do are all in the middle of the day when people work. For example, yoga is only offered once per week. I heard that part the instructors peanuts, which is why they can't offer more. It's very small and quite old.
